• Norwin Marching Band

The Norwin Marching Band is the largest and most visible subdivision of the Norwin Band Program.  The ensemble is comprised of all band students and color guard members and provides a community environment where students can work with each other to achieve excellence through performance.  There are many traits that can be taken away from this experience including value and respect of others, discipline in time management,   and the benefits of working efficiently.  These characteristics will ultimately translate into their professional careers later in life.  We have a large accomplished alumni base in many careers of which we are extremely proud.

The marching band at Norwin attends all Friday night football games performing at halftime.  The ensemble also attends several local parades providing a sense of community and spirit to the school.  This ensemble throughout its history has been involved & very successful in the competitive arena.  The Marching Band competes locally several weekends in the fall.  Every year in September the Band hosts “The Norwin Band Festival” which draws bands from Pennsylvania,Ohio, West Virginia and New York.  It is one of the biggest competitive festivals in the state.  The Norwin Marching Band represents the Norwin School District at a national level through its participation in the Bands of America competitive Events.  The Norwin Band is the only band to win a BOA regional title in each of the last 4 decades.

This Ensemble Starts off the year with it’s “Unveiling/Orientation Event” in late May at which all current members and prospective members as well as community are invited to learn about the band program and celebrate the start of the Marching Band season through the unveiling of the coming seasons show and instructional staff.  A typical season will end in late October or early November.
