Report to Middle School with all equipment set up and jazz band folder by 2:45.

Stands, tape to keep your music from blowing away and power will be provided.

Dress is jeans and any black T-shirt.

You are responsible to get your equipment to and from the Middle School.

Tuesday May 8th: PMEA Music Performance Assessment @ Norwin HS Periods 1-3.. Arrive to Homeroom@ 7:18AM in concert Attire.

Thursday May 10th: Spring Combined concert@ 7:30 PM  Report Time For students is 6:40 In the Orchestra Room, dressed in Concert Attire Ready To Warmup.

Wind Ensemble will have rehearsal after school on Monday May 7th from 2:30 – 4:30.

Tuesday – Ladies should report to school in concert dress (black & white).  Please bring a change of clothing for after our performance if you wish.  Gentlemen should wear their white shirt, Black socks, and black shoes to school on Tuesday and immediately upon entering the school report to the uniform room to change into a tuxedo.

Wind Ensemble will have a dress rehearsal on Wednesday May 9th from 6 – 9 PM.

Report time for Thursday’s concert is 7:00 PM dressed in the Band Room.

(North Huntingdon, PA) — Norwin Play it Forward Fund presents Suite Café 2012, the third annual family-friendly coffeehouse event to benefit the fund. The event will take place Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 6:30 PM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton’s Mack Hall on Legar Road in North Huntingdon Township. This year’s event will honor Mr. Richard “Dick” Zentner, a long-time volunteer and philanthropist of the Norwin Marching Band as well as of the Norwin Play it Forward Fund.

The evening will feature musical entertainment by Norwin instrumental students and their instructors, a coffee bar, dessert buffet, chocolate fountain, and a nacho bar in recognition of the Cinco de Mayo holiday. Chinese raffles, a silent auction, and a live cake auction will round out the evening. Advance reservations are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and students, and a table of eight for $175. Corporate and table sponsors and in-kind donations for the event are sought as well.

Norwin Play it Forward Fund, Inc., a 501(c)3, non-profit organization provides primarily need-based grants for motivated Norwin instrumental students, grades 5 -12, who desire to improve their musical performance by taking private music lessons or attending summer music camps. The goal for students who benefit is to ultimately play it forward in the future – either financially or of giving their time and talent to help mentor other students – thereby helping to attract and retain membership in the historically successful band and orchestra programs, as well as to support the arts in the Norwin school district.

Norwin Play it Forward Funds are Available!

Just a reminder that if your child in a Norwin School’s instrumental program, grades 5 – 12, and interested in taking private music lessons, subsidies are available. Priority is given to students with financial need – but need is measured in different ways. Some examples: Students have received supplements when their parent is employed seasonally, when a parent is between jobs, or qualifies for the free/reduced lunch program. Subsidies vary based upon need. In addition, the Fund has budgeted for ten music camp grants this summer at $300 apiece. Students last year attended Music for All’s Summer Symposium in Ball State University, Penn State University music camp, and Duquesne University’s guitar and jazz camps. $300 covers almost half of the cost to attend Summer Symposium. Students need only be motivated and have a willingness to play it forward in support of their respective program.

To apply for subsidized or free lessons or a camp grant, your child should see his/her band/orchestra director for the appropriate application.

2. Follow prompts to set up your account.  (First time only)

4. Select items and checkout –  pay online with a credit card OR by cash/check at pick up.

5. On the confirmation page click on  ”Send a Message to the Chairperson” so we know who to credit the points to.  Simply type the name of your band student in the box.  Earn more points when friends & family place orders and give credit to your band student.

6.  Come to Circleville Fire Hall to pick up your order from 7-7:30pm.  See chart for dates.

We always need help unloading the truck and packing orders on delivery day.  The truck arrives at about 5:30pm.  Everyone is welcome – more help means less work for us all!  If you have already placed your order, thank you! If not, we hope you will order today.

As with any Fundraiser, we are in need of HELPERS!  We need people to help that night as well as people to donate food items,, items for the basket raffles and cash donations are always welcomed!  Last year’s KAR profited over $4,000 with all of the donations we received within the band family and from Sponsors. We had about 28 door prizes, 8 Baskets, A lottery “Horseshoe”  and an autographed Lamarr Woodley jersey in glass enclosed case, donated by Casey Harper Autoplex.  With everyone’s help and support we hope to make KAR an even bigger event this year!
