A Note From Our Parent Liaison
is next week, Monday 6/12-Friday 6/16 from 12N-4P at the High School.
Please make sure your students come prepared for being out in the
sun/heat. They should wear sunscreen, have plenty of water, and a snack.
It is very important that they stay well hydrated and proper
When dropping off/picking up your student, please remember to pull into a parking space. Do not pull along the curb, as this is quite dangerous with
2-way traffic, new drivers, and students crossing the roadway.
Extra sunglasses will be available for those who did not place an order but would like to purchase a pair. Please contact me with any questions.

First practices and music camp means it is time to fit
everyone for their marching uniforms. You will receive separate
information regarding shoes, but following are the times, assigned by
grade, to come to the uniform room to receive your uniform. It is
important that everyone come at the day/time assigned to help reduce the
wait times as the uniform room can get very warm. However, if a true
conflict exists with your time, just let me know.
It is important that students wear or bring appropriate
shorts to wear under the uniform pants to insure a proper fit.
Compression shorts or light weight gym shorts are a must. Cargo shorts or basketball shorts that are long with excess fabric will not be able to be worn under the uniform pants. Also, returning band members need to bring their marching shoes.
Do not wait and come at the end of your assigned block of
time. We cannot fit everybody in 10 minutes, and then everybody will be
late for practice...not good!
Sophomore fittings will be on Friday June 16th -
A through M 10:00 - 12:00.
N through Z - 4:00 after practice
Junior fittings will be on Monday June 19th --
A through M 2:30 - 4:00
N through Z 4:00 - 6:00
Freshmen fittings will be on Monday July 10th --
A through M 2:30 - 4:00
N through Z 4:00 - 6:00
Senior fittings will be on Monday July 17th -
A through M 3:00
N through Z 4:00
Extra hands are always needed after fittings are complete to
help with minor alterations. If you or anyone you know can sew a little
(like taking in or letting out a seam a bit) please let us know.
Additional help will also be needed to press the uniform sleeves and
pants hem following fittings.
We will send out an additional email requesting help with that.
There are new Medical Forms that must be completed by each student (new and returning) due to changes that were made to the form. Mr. Daniels will be handing out to all students. All areas are to be completed. If it does not apply, please enter N/A. Incomplete forms will not be accepted. Forms
must be notarized and returned by the Kennywood Parade on August 19th
or your student will not be able to participate in the parade.
With our next marching season right around the corner, any student who uses an inhaler,
please start making plans for saving one for the band's medical bag. If
you have an inhaler that has a minimal number of doses left in it,
please consider saving it to be placed in the medical bag for
emergencies. All inhalers are to have the student's name written on it
in sharpie marker and can be given to Amy or Grant Funk to place in the
medical bag. Please note that all medications/inhalers were returned to the students at the end of last year's marching season. Any emergency medications (ie Epi Pen) can also be placed in the medical bag. Any questions, please feel free to contact us.
