Rehearsal - Monday, July 8th

After our 4th of July break, our next Winds and Percussion Rehearsal will be on Monday, July 8th from 6:00 – 9:00 PM.

Visual Camp - Monday, July 15th

We will have our second Visual Camp Rehearsal on Monday, July 15th from 3:00 – 9:00 PM.  This rehearsal is for all wind and percussion students in the Band.

Dinner will be from 5:15 – 6:00 PM in the cafeteria.  Students should either pack a dinner or have one delivered to them at 5:15.

Band Handbook

Please ensure that you sign and return the last page of the Band Handbook.  Paper copies were given to all New Members at Orientation and an electronic copy was sent via the Band Notes.  The handbook is also available on the website in the student section.  This MUST be signed and returned in order for students to travel with the band.  Students can turn this form in directly to Mr. Daniels.

The electronic Medical Form and Fairshare Acknowledgment must also be completed before students are able to travel.

Please complete all forms by July 29th.

Band Car Wash

Each year, the Norwin Band and Colorguard host a car wash marathon at three locations across the area.  This fundraiser is one of the largest one-day fundraisers that the Band does!  In order for the event to be successful, we ask that all Band and Colorguard students participate and sign-up for at least one shift at their assigned location that day.  Students are more than welcome to (and encouraged!) to sign up for more than one shift if they’re able – particularly later in the day.  A sign-up sheet is posted on the doors to the Band Room, and students should sign up for a shift as soon as possible.

Below are the three car wash locations and assignments:

  1. Brass & Drumline – Advanced Auto Parts at 12209 Rt 30 (Across from Norwin Town Square)
  2. Colorguard and Front Ensemble – O’Reilly’s Auto Parts at 9595 Rt 30
  3. Woodwinds – Advanced Auto Parts at 8716 Norwin Ave (Norwin Hills)

In addition, parents are needed to chaperone, collect donations, and help with washing cars at each location. If you’re available, please contact Bill Bojalad or Diane Waszkiewicz.

Mattress Fundraiser

If you are in the market for a new mattress or know someone who is, we will be conducting our 6th Annual Mattress Sale for the Norwin Band on Saturday, August 3rd in the High School Band Room from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

There will be great beds at incredible prices.  There will be Simmons Beautyrest, Tempur-Pedic, Malouf, and Southerland Beds all at 30-60% off!  Come out, pick one out, and have it delivered!  We are now offering a variety of pillows, just like in a store!  Ask one of the students for a flyer to get your free set of sheets with any mattress set of $399 or more!  We are also now offering financing with no credit check!

This is our largest one-day fundraiser for the Band program, so let’s make this the biggest year yet! Spread the word to everyone you know!

Band Calendar

The Band calendar has been updated to include all marching band events (summer and fall) as well as most events for the entire 2019-2020 school year.  Please add these dates to your calendar and check back often for updates!
