Ohio State Symphonic Band Residency
We are excited to announce that The Ohio State University Symphonic Band will be in residence at Norwin High School on May 2nd and 3rd, 2018. The residency will include master classes with Norwin Band students, a joint concert with Ohio State and home stays with Norwin Band families. We are very excited to provide this opportunity for the students at Norwin!

Tentative Schedule of Events:
2:30-4:30pm- Master classes with OSU students and rehearsals with Dr. Scott Jones, Asst. Director of Bands, Ohio State University
5-6pm- Dinner for all students from Norwin and OSU. (Provided by Band Aides)
7pm- Concert w/ Ohio State. We are still working on plans for the concert and will update you with performing ensemble information. All members should plan on attending the concert to hear this fantastic ensemble.
9pm- Concert concludes and OSU students go home with host families.
Congratulations, Norwin RA and Norwin World!
Congratulations to the performers and staff of the Norwin Regional A Guard and Norwin World Guard for earning 1st Place in each of their respective classes at the WGI Pittsburgh Regional hosted at Norwin HS on March 3-4, 2018! Both groups had two incredible performances of their shows.
Also, a big thanks to all of the student and parent volunteers who made this event successful for yet another year! Your dedication and commitment to the students of this program is incredible, and, on behalf of everyone, WE THANK YOU!
Music in the Parks
The Band will be traveling to HersheyPark for the Music in the Parks Competition on Saturday, May 5th.
We will be tentatively departing at 6:30am with performances at 10:55 and 11:20AM.
Suite Cafe will be held on Saturday, May 12th, beginning at 7pm.
The Suite Cafe will take a different format this year, with the Play It Forward Fund, sponsoring the event and proceeds going to the Norwin High School Band Activity Fund. The event this year will be simpler, with the focus on the student performers. There will also be desserts on hand!!
This year’s event will be held at the Norwin Community Center, next to Shirley’s. Tickets will be $10 per person. More details about purchasing tickets coming soon!!
