MATTRESS SALE!!!!!

 

Our 4th Annual Mattress Sale is scheduled for Saturday August 5th from 10AM to 4PM.  Spread the word and let’s sale some mattresses.  There are about 140 people involved in the band and color guard.  If we get just one referral per family that purchases a mattress that would raise between $12,000 and $15,000 for the program, split between fairshare and general fund.  We will need a few student volunteers at the high school throughout the day.  Sign-ups will be in the band room.  Email Mr. Daniels if you have any questions!  Click here for the Email Flyer!

Band Car Wash

The Band Car Wash is on Saturday, July 29th from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.  Students should sign up for a shift on the sign-up sheet in the band room!

Visual Camp #2

On Monday, July 24th, we will be having our second visual camp from 3-9pm.  DINNER will be at 5:15pm.  Please make sure that you are well hydrated and active leading up to rehearsal.  It will likely be in the mid to upper 80’s so plan accordingly.  Please also make sure that you eat a substantial lunch before rehearsal.

Kennywood Fall Fantasy Parade

Call Time @ Norwin High School for all members- 10:30AM

Depart for Kennywood-11AM

Parade-8:00PM

Depart Kennywood-9PM

Arrive @ Norwin HS- 9:30PM

All students must ride busses to and from Kennywood. We will depart Kennywood immediately following the parade.  Students receive free admission to the park but should bring money for meals as none will be provided by the band that day.  Anyone wishing to watch the parade must purchase a ticket to enter the park.  Please email Mr. Daniels if you have any questions.

Preview Show

The Norwin Band Preview show will be held in Norwin Stadium on Thursday, August 17th at 7PM

Call time for students will be 4:30PM

Following the preview show, we will have a “fun night” for all band students at the high school until 11PM

This is a great opportunity to see the band in the early stages of the show and for parents and friends togged a glimpse of what goes into making our competitive productions possible.  A more detailed schedule will be posted closer to the event.

BAND CAMP 2017

The weeks of July 31st and August 7th are our two band camp weeks this year.  It is vitally important that all students are in attendance for the entire two weeks in order to get the 2017 program on the field.  It is extremely difficult to make up the material learned in these two weeks.

Week 1 (July 31-Aug 4)- 12PM-8:30PM (Thursday is picture day, students should arrive at 10:30AM)                                     DINNER- 4:15PM (Students are not allowed to leave campus for dinner)

Week 2 (Aug 7-Aug 11)- 8AM-4:30PM                                                                                                                                                       LUNCH- 11:45AM (Students are not allowed to leave campus for lunch)

The band parents will provide a snack each day, but it is recommended that all students also bring a quick snack (granola bar, crackers etc.) that they can eat on break.  We will be doing a lot of strenuous activity throughout the week.  Students should also remember to wear sunscreen, dress for changing weather conditions and drink lots of water!
